ABOUT THE FOUNDER
MEET JARED

Jared Halverson is a dedicated lover of the word of God, a passion that has taken him on a journey through the Bible belt and divinity school, where he specialized in anti-religious rhetoric.Currently an Associate Professor of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University Provo, Jared is committed to teaching young adults how to discover their Savior within the pages of scripture. Throughout his life, he has proved Nephi‘s promise that the words of Christ will teach us all things that we should do. Alongside his wife, Emily, Jared is the proud parent of five children.

is to question Moses's identity

Jared’s Insights into the “Divine Contrary” —When God is both infinite and intimate.

“On the one hand, you see God's

omnipotence and omniscience,

[power and knowledge] but on the

other you see His omnibenevolence

[all loving].

It's WHY he does what he does.

It's what he does with His power and

knowledge.

On the infinite side, he is the creator

of worlds without number.

We'll see that specifically in Moses

Chapter One.

But on the intimate side, he doesn't

just number the worlds.

He numbers the hairs of your head.

On the one hand, you see, awe,

on the other you see approachability.

Feel reverence, but we can establish

relationship.

There's a justice on the infinite, an

infinite side, and a mercy on the

intimate side, a divinity and

a humanity.”

found in God's own bosom, and reading,

their faith and navigating faith crisis, and

I often remind them of what is in

the Ark of the Covenant, because if it’s

covered by the lid, known as the MERCY

SEAT, and God is sitting above that,

— with His grace, then if we’ve ever felt

we’ve gone too far to come back,

too far to return to God, or too far to

return to church, that faith crisis is often

tied to a worthiness crisis inside us.

Unshaken Saints Advent Day 22— This is Christmas:

Love coming down to walk with us through every wilderness and into the life He’s preparing.

Today’s Christmas message is brought to

you by Connie @connie_sokol she shares

how the Lord once called her out of

everything familiar—comfort, identity, and

certainty—

and led her into what felt like a wilderness.

What seemed like a wilderness of loss

became a wilderness of preparation.

Through promptings and people, the Lord

guided her toward a purpose she couldn’t

yet see.

And in time, He led her to a promised land

one He had crafted for her, one filled with

growth, progression, and Christ-centered

work with young adults.

The Lord’s promise became real:

“So presiding.

In fact, if you go back to that Genesis

original ruling over, as my Hebrew

professor said, yeah, that one possible

retranslation of that is not ruling over but

rather ruling with.

But what if from the start, that was the

model God intended for a marriage, that

the husband would not rule over the wife,

but that the husband would rule with the

wife?

Because if you think about our doctrine,

the only place that a husband would ever

rule over anything is in the highest degree

of the celestial kingdom.

And the only way to obtain that blessing is

to have a wife with whom to rule.

The patriarchal order of the priesthood is

thus a matriarchal order of the priesthood

as well.

And to have those equal partners

functioning hand in hand, presiding and

nurturing together in love and

righteousness.

That will be the best possible outcome for

whatever children are in that home.

Love and law, truth and tolerance are

all contraries that we have to prove

issues and sexuality issues and so forth.

Please keep that in mind in everything we

We can be we can hold to the Laws of

God, and we can be loving to those who

living them at the time.

We can strive for that balance and flex

“If it's revelation, God said so.

If it's policy, man said so.

And if it's just man saying so, then man can change it.

Policy can overturn policy.

One president can overturn another president.

But if the president was speaking on

behalf of the Lord and that was

revelation, then that's a higher level of

authority.

And policy cannot trump revelation.

Only revelation can do that.

So in some ways, absent clear information

on the front end, we're stuck with waiting

for revelation on the back end. It's the

only one that covers both previous bases,

if that makes sense.”

“Some parts of family life unfold differently than we imagine.

My journey toward motherhood has not followed the timing I once hoped for — and yet, in the waiting,
I’ve learned that Jesus walks with us long before the blessings we’re reaching
for arrive.

The Family Proclamation teaches that Families are central to God’s plan, and
that He guides the unfolding of those sacred roles.

I’ve come to see that even the seasons of “not yet” can be part of that divine preparation — shaping our hearts, our marriages, and our understanding of who He is.

This Advent season, I’m remembering that the Savior’s light reaches not only
into joyful beginnings, but into the tender, unfinished places too.”

rooms of the Holy Temple, he

presented it to his Counselors, who

accepted it and approved it.

Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, who

unanimously approved it, and was

subsequently presented to all other

General Authorities, who likewise

approved it unanimously.

That President Kimball in that case,

He received a revelation.

How? By paying the price to receive

it, he spent time extended meditation

and prayer, sacred rooms, holy temple,

and then not just calling the shot like

I'm president, I can do whatever

I want.

No, remember Section 107 decisions

arrived at through Christlike attributes…”

With her husband working two full-time

jobs, she often felt alone and prayed for

help—

hoping for a big miracle that would

change everything at once.

Instead, the Lord sent a ministering sister.

At first, Shayla didn’t want the visits, the

texts, or the kindness left on her doorstep.

It felt overwhelming when she didn’t feel

“put together.”

But her ministering sister kept gently

showing up—

small, simple acts Shayla didn’t realize

were answers to her prayer.

The day she finally walked into church

alone with her newborn, there her

ministering sister stood, saving her a seat.

In that moment, she understood:

God had been sending her an angel all

along—

quiet, steady, and exactly on time.

This is Christmas:

Love coming down through ordinary

people and everyday mercies.
